Work Experience in the Warehouse
One of the areas where I don’t spend enough of my time is our transit warehouse and transport department in London. I would like to thank Tom Foster for arranging a day where I could work with the team, which included unloading a couple of groupage containers.
What I did see first hand, is what I am being told by my management, in that we have a close team doing a great job. The warehouse and transport departments are often overlooked but they extremely important and integral part of our business and I had a really enjoyable day.
When I next see clients like Ben Sherman or Gant I can honestly say I did take care of their shipments and I have a bad back to show for it. Thanks again to Tom and the team for doing a great job for our clients.

What makes me proud to be Managing Director of YRC Logistics?
He has worked in a number of departments and management roles before moving becoming a senior business development Manager. When Dean secures a client he always follows the standard implementation process, but he also always takes extra care to make sure the client is more than satisfied. Recently he secured a forwarding and distribution client, which we are very excited about developing more with. There have been some challenges, especially in the warehouse and distribution side. Dean has rolled his sleeves up and worked night and day on the floor to help through some initial dangerous situations. I am so proud that we have guys like Dean who really do care about their clients; it is not just a job to them.
Below is a section of the thank you letter received from the client to Dean
Cool thanks Dean
Dave will let you know when to dispatch Czech, Italy, Sweden and Denmark which should be early next week. And I will arrange for Dubai and Russia to be collect early next week also
Despite the few hiccups (mostly our suppliers fault), i think you handled the whole thing really well, and we really appreciate the work you've put in.
Let make the review meeting down the Pub, because i owe you a beer
Cheers

I love Scotland
In any case my love affair with Scotland will continue when I visit our truly world class operation in Glasgow next week. I have just seen the results from one of our largest clients, with stock held in our facility worth of over USD 3 million dollars, we recently transferred onto Oracle and we then performed a full physical inventory check with them. The result was a stock discrepancy of USD 2k, less than 0.07%.
At YRCL we are passionate about providing outstanding client service and in true YRCL tradition, I cannot wait to meet the Scottish team later this week to celebrate with them.
